Langtang Hiking
Langtang lies to the north of Katmandu near the Tibetan border. The Langtang valley is also called "the valley of glaciers". The region holds mountain peaks such as the Langtang Himal, Dorje Lakpa, Langshisa, and Gonja La Pass. The scenic holy village of Tarkegyang is famous in the region. This region is also famous for trekking and expedition. A visit to Langtang valley offers an opportunity to explore villages, to climb small peaks and to visit glaciers at a comfortably low elevation. The other destination Goshaikunda (4300m) has also many things to offer. Every year, pilgrims of both Hindus & Buddhists pay their visit in this sacred place.
Another famous place, Helambu is famous for the apples in Nepal. Langtang region is sandwiched between the main Himalayan range to the north and a slightly lower range of snowy peaks to the south. Langtang Lirung (7246 metres) dominates the valley to the north; Gang Chhenpo (6388m) and Naya Kangri (5846m) lie to the south; and Dorje Lakpa (6966 metres) protects the east end of the valley. The area was designated Nepal's first Himalayan National Park in 1971. A visit to the Langtang Valley offers an opportunity to explore villages, to climb small peaks and to visit glaciers. Langtang Hiking Itinerary:
Day 01 :Arrival at Kathmandu Airport and transfer to hotel
Day 02 :Full day Kathmandu valley sightseeing.
Day 03 :Drive to Syabrubesi (1600m) from Kathmandu.
Day 04 :Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel(2470m): Hike through a variety of small villages and tracts of dense forest, The hike becomes a pleasant walk through dense forest with view of frolic, passing a slice stream and small waterfalls
Day 05 :Hike from Lama Hotel to Langtang village (3430m): The beautiful view of Langtang Lirung peak. Passing a few temporary settlements used by herders who bring their livestock to graze in the high pastures during the summer months. It is easy to find yak and the wild goats wondering around you.
Day 06 :Descend down to Syabrubesi via Lama Hotel by same route
Day 07 :Drive to Kathmandu from Syabrubesi
Day 08 :Shopping and free day, evening culture show with farewell dinner
Day 09 :Departure, transfer to airport
