Everest Region Trekking
The Everest region is located in the northeast of Nepal. The most visited part of this region is Solukhumbu district, home of the legendary Sherpas and the highest peak of the world, the Everest at 8848 meters. To the north of Solukhumbu is Everest National Park; while to the east is the Makalu Barun National Park. The major ethnic groups that live in the Everest region are Sherpas, Rais, Tamangs, Brahmins and Chhettris. Diverse range of wildlife and vegetation are seen in the region. Animals to be sighted are mountain goat, musk deer and barking deer in the forests. The best time to visit is spring and autumn.
Getting There:
Everest region can be reached by air or on foot. Buses to Jiri leaves from Kathmandu. Jiri is a ten-hour drive from Kathmandu. By air 35 minute flight. The most convenient for Everest trek is Lukla, which is serviced by many airlines with daily flights from Kathmandu. Another options is the airstrip at Phaplu, near the district headquarter which is again serviced daily flights from Kathmandu. The last choice is the small airstrip at Syangaboche, which is located above Namche bazaar. Despite being an option, altitude makes it an impractical and unwise choice as an arrival destination for accommodation reasons.
Permits and fees:
Special trekking permits are not required to visit this area. Entry fees are charged for access to Everest National Park and Makalu Barun National Park.TIMS card.
Everest Base Camp Trekking
Everest base camp trek is very popular trek in Nepal due to the world's highest mountain Mount Everest is standing on it. The trek has number of stunning attractions, the trek gets you right into the high altitude heart of the high Himalaya, unique Sherpa villages and old age gompas (monasteries). Interaction with local Sherpa people of this Everest(Solu Khumbu) region make trekking more joyful.
Everest Gokyo Lake Trekking
This trek explores around the breathtaking Gokyo valley that is located adjacent of the Khumbu. Gokyo is a land of high altitude lakes. From where you will have a magnificent view of highest peaks, from the west to east are Cho you (8,153m), Gyachung Kang (7,922m), Everest (8848m), Lhotse (8,501m) and further way Makalu, On the way to descent you can enjoy, superb view of Gokyo Lake.
Everest View Trekking
This trek, the shortest of the Everest treks, provides close-up views of Everest and a chance to spend time in the Sherpa villages. The route takes you into the Everest region – one of the busiest in Nepal. You will reach a maximum altitude of 4100m requiring a moderate level of physical fitness to complete this trek comfortably. The trek takes us through the lush vegetation of Sagarmatha National Park, with pine forests, rhododendron flowers and wildlife.
Everest Kalapathar Trekking
We fly to Lukla and begin trekking through the land of the legendary Sherpas into the Sagarmatha (Everest) national park. Since the successful ascent of Everest the Khumbu region has enjoyed the international attention. We follow the classic trail to Namche bazaar, Khumjung, Pangboche and Lobuche to the Everest Base Camp and go on to Kalapatthar. From Tengboche to Pangboche (3,985m) the trail rises through meadows where graze yak.
Jiri Everest Base Camp Trek
Jiri to Everest base camp trek cover low land from Jiri to highland Kalapathar 5545m. This is breathtaking walking trip in Everest Region. Trekker requires a good walking experience and a good physical health condition. This trek is very interesting walking with its panoramic view of Everest 8848m, Cho Oyu 8152m, Lhotse 8516m, Makalu 8463m and Ama Dablam 6456m. through the famous Sherpa village of Namche Bazaar, Tengboche Buddhist Monastery, Khunde Khumjung etc.
Most people heading to the Solu-Khumbu region are intent only on getting a close-up glimpse of Mount Everest and often take a plane into Lukla. However, the trail from Jiri to Namche, though not long on mountain views, does pass through numerous interesting villages that are now visited by a small number of trekkers each year.
Gokyo Renjo-La Pass Trekking
Everest Renjo-La pass trek is one of the best trekking routes for anyone. This trek leads the High pass Renjo-La which on the way to Tibet Boarder Nag pa-la and Gokyo valley. This trek is ideal for those people who like to do trek go through high pass but not difficult one.
The views from the Renjo-La is splendid, Far down you could see the Gokyo-valley with Gokyo lake - blue color and with the some Lodges, that looks like the painted by fine artist a beautiful magic art. The Renjo -La pass trek is one of best route in Khumbu trekking Region.
Jiri Everest Trek
Follows the classic Everest expedition route through hill, villages where the scenery and way of life of typical of must of rural Nepal. Lots of climbing route crosses several ridges separated by deep river valleys. An excellent trek that offer a chance to acclimatize before heading to Everest Bas Camp or Gokyo.
This section details the first eight days of a trek from Jiri to the Everest Base Camp or Gokyo. This is the best way to do an Everest trek, but it is shown here are two different treks because must people fly to Lukla and walk only the high ? altitude portion of the route. This means that the portion of the treks from Jiri to Lukla is often uncrowned and therefore excellent trekking country.
Mani Rimdu Festival Trekking
The Mani Rimdu Festival is a colourful, noisy occasion that takes place in the most spectacular of settings. Performed by the monks of Chiwong and Tengboche monasteries, it depicts the victory of Buddhism over the ancient 'Bon' religion. The festival lasts for three days and is well attended by the Sherpa people who often trek for many days to witness this important event.
Tengboche Mani Rimdu starts on the full moon of October, and the Chiwong Mani Rimdu on the full moon of November. We have two special departures to both festivals, the exact dates of which are yet to be announced. Please contact our office if you are interested in these departures and we will confirm the dates as soon as they are known. On both Mani Rimdu departures we stay in our pre-booked comfortable mountain lodges.
Sherpa Village Trekking
This Sherpa Brothers village trek, of nine day?s duration, usually starts in Jiri and ends with a flight back to Kathmandu from Phaplu. It is also possible to continue on from Phalpu and join the Everest trek at Ringmo, the village below the Traksindu La pass.
The highlight of the trek is the stunning view from the top of pike, which includes Everest as well as a great number of lesser snow-capped peaks.
To travel over Pike Danda, follow the Jiri to Lukla trek as far as the Likhu Khola, before Kenja. The route then climbs steeply through the villages of Goli Gompa and Ngaur before reaching the (4065 m ) summit of Pike. Descent to Phaplu is via the Sherpa village of Lodingma, home land of Sherpa Brothers Treks family.
Due to the high altitude of Pike, trekkers must be particularly careful to watch for signs of AMS and be prepared to spend extra nights at Goli or Ngaur if necessary.
