About Chandra

Chandra Prasad Puri was born in the hills of Khotang in eastern Nepal. Growing up there, he came to love the mountains and the cultural traditions of the region early on.

Tourism runs in his family. His father has been a Senior Assistant at Actual Adventure since the company was founded. Watching his father's work, Chandra grew familiar with adventure travel as a child and decided it was the career he wanted.

Career Journey

Chandra completed his bachelor's degree and then followed his father into tourism. Since then he has built hands-on experience in trekking, mountaineering, and adventure expeditions. That experience has made him a capable guide and trek manager on some of Nepal's most popular routes, including Everest Base Camp and the Annapurna Circuit.

What Makes Chandra Special

  • Local roots. He grew up in the eastern hills, so he knows the terrain and the mountain way of life first-hand.
  • Family heritage. He is the second generation of his family in adventure tourism, and he brings the values of the Actual Adventure family to every trek.
  • Cultural respect. He enjoys sharing Nepal's traditions, villages, and people with his guests, which gives each trek meaning beyond the trail.
  • Care for guests. His priorities are your safety, comfort, and enjoyment from the first day to the last.

Trek with Chandra

Chandra is a young and dedicated guide who is becoming well known in Nepal's adventure tourism industry. His love for the mountains keeps growing with every trek. He would be glad to lead you, whether you are heading to Everest Base Camp or around the Annapurna Circuit.
