Born and raised in the Solukhumbu region beneath the towering peaks of Everest, Phurba Sherpa has spent more than 15 years guiding trekkers through the Himalaya. Growing up in a Sherpa family, he learned the mountain trails, local customs and Buddhist traditions from an early age. He began his career as a porter, gaining firsthand experience of the high-altitude routes before becoming a Government-licensed trekking guide. Over the years he developed a special connection with German-speaking travellers, and today he guides guests from Germany, Austria and Switzerland in fluent German, sharing stories of Sherpa culture, monastery life and mountain history along the way. Known for his calm nature, warm humour and careful attention to safety and acclimatization, Phurba has led successful treks to Everest Base Camp, Gokyo Lakes, the Three Passes and beyond. For him, every trek is not just a journey to the mountains but a chance to share the heart of his homeland with friends from around the world.
